Civil Partnership in London

There have been a few changes to our website recently, so welcome to our first blog of 2011!  Just before Christmas, we were delighted to supply the flowers for the Civil Partnership of Paul and Russell which was held at the Institute of Contemporary Art overlooking the Mall in central London.

Paul and Russell were the ideal clients; they knew exactly what look they wanted to create, and loved our suggestions! More like that please!! The ICA is an elegant regency building in Carlton House Terrace, and to reflect this, we created arrangements of white hydrangeas, white roses, rosemary and black berried ivy on elegant glass flutes. The intimate ceremony took place in the Brandon Room overlooking the gardens of Carlton House Terrace, while the reception was held in the elegant Nash Room overlooking the Mall and Horseguards Parade. If you want to feel at the centre of things, this is the perfect venue, with views of Big Ben and the London Eye from the terrace.

Paul and Russell chose some wonderful readings for their ceremony, one of which we’d like to share with you.

“You can give without loving, but you can never love without giving. The great acts of love are done by those who are habitually performing small acts of kindness. We pardon to the extent that we love. love is knowing that even when you are alone, you will never be lonely again. And great happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved. Loved for ourselves. And even loved in spite of ourselves.” Victor Hugo.
