Amanda and Richards’ weddings has to be one of our favourites last year. They were an absolutely lovely couple to work with and, we were able to use some of our favourite English summer flowers. The venue was the stunning Barnsley House in Gloucestershire. Add to that wedding planner Helen Carter (one of the most organised people we know) and photographer Eliza Claire and, you have the recipe for the perfect wedding.

Amanda and Richard wanted a day full of love, fun and laughter in an English country garden. They wanted their daughters to be their bridesmaids and for the wedding to look and feel romantic and informal.

Wild flower style bouquets of pinks, blue nigella, marjoram, chamomile and astilbe were perfect for the girls and echoed the jam jars, hanging from shepherds crooks, lining the aisle.

Following the ceremony the guests made their way into the potager garden, where escort cards tied to vintage bottles and filled with an array of summer flowers, guided them to their tables in the marquee for lunch.

The vintage theme continued with every table having a different collection of glass vases and crockery. Scented stocks, roses, marjoram, pinks, scabious, queen anne’s lace and poppy heads brought the garden in; perfect for a summer wedding. For more stunning images of this gorgeous wedding, you can see the full story on Eliza’s blog here.

Every so often you have clients who are such a delight to work with and, a photographer whose work is so beautiful that you feel really emotional over such a wonderful event. Lisa and Alex were two such clients and Marianne Taylor is one of those photographers!! We knew this wedding was going to be special when we first met Lisa and Alex, both of whom work in design and, both of whom poured all their creativity and passion into every detail of their day.

To start with, they chose Preston Court in Kent as their venue, with it’s lake and gazebo and, in this idyllic setting the sun DID shine for their outdoor ceremony. Vintage was the order of the day, and we were happy to oblige with a flower palette of English garden hydrangeas, dahlias, blousy “Faith” roses and herbs.

The design for this reception has to be one of our favourites, inspired by Lisa and Alexs’ legendary mood boards (we really should get them framed) with one long table to seat all their guests. The hessian runner created a perfect base for nearly one hundred vases, tea cups and bottles and, the amazing painted organ which is a permanent feature couldn’t have made a more perfect back drop.

We’re so glad that Lisa and Alex decided not to have a traditional wedding cake, opting instead for this gorgeous cheese one instead. They did however have Eton Mess in tea cups for dessert, after we gave back the caterer the tea cups which we thought were for flowers!! This was such a joyful wedding and these are a only a fraction of the gorgeous photographs that Marianne took, so please take a look at the whole day in all its glory here. You can also see a fantastic video of the day by Mark Brown here.

Our second American wedding with Pippa Mackenzie was in the Cotswolds,at the very historic Weston Manor. This time, Kelly Chandler from The Bespoke Wedding Company planned a superb celebration combining Kay’s Western and Nima’s Persian heritage.
Although the wedding ceremony was originally planned to take place outside, the English weather had other ideas, so Kelly took the executive decision to move it indoors to the manor’s great hall, which we dressed with a very classic palette of white and green. At the Persian ceremony, full of symbolism and meaning, Kay carried a bouquet of mango coloured calla lilies, which gave a hint as to what was to come for the rest of the day!
With such a typically English venue, you’d be forgiven for thinking that Kay and Nima would have opted for a classic design for their reception, but not a bit of it! This pair wanted colour and we gave it to them, in what had to be our most colourful wedding of the year. On a rainy summer day the orange, white and green colour scheme looked amazing against the backdrop of the white marquee.
Kay’s favourite flowers are gerberas, she adores them, so they were always going to play a big part in the day. The escort card table, dinner tables and statement vases all featured this wonderfully happy flower in glowing shades of orange.

We never say no to good cake and Zoe Clark does good cake!
She created this Persian fantasy, complete with flying carpet which we just adore; we think Kay and Nima did too! For more fantastically colourful images, take a look at Pippa’s wonderful blog about the day here. The wedding has also been featured in Perfect Wedding Magazine here
The Christmas decorations have been packed away and the remains of the pine has been swept up. So now, after a fantastically busy 2011 we can get to share with you what we’ve been up to over the last few months. We want to start with a couple of weddings who, though very different were linked in several ways. Both couples were American and loved the idea of getting married in the UK. Both couples had wedding planners, on this occasion our friend Erika from Flutterfly Events and BOTH were photographed by Pippa Mackenzie, with whom we’ve worked on many occasions. You can see more of her gorgeous photography from this wedding here.
Shannon and Bryce wanted a very classic English wedding at a very classic English venue. Wrotham Park fitted the bill perfectly, particularly as its so close to Central London and most of the guests were flying in from overseas.
The ceremony took place in the beautiful chapel attached to the estate, where a classic flower palette of white and cream set the floral tone for the day.
Shannon’s simple bouquet of pure white calla lilies complemented her wedding gown beautifully and, the binding of antique lace which had belonged to her grandmother added a very romantic touch.
The setting for the reception was Wrotham’s beautiful blue, white and gold drawing room, where we dressed the tables alternately with silver candelabras and rose bowls full of scented stocks, roses, hydrangeas and summer foliages.
The saloon provided the back drop for the cutting of the cake, dressed with white roses and lavender and it looked as though something had definitely tickled Shannon’s fancy!

We’ve had a wonderfully busy summer full of beautiful weddings and great clients. We’ve also had some amazing “thank you’s” which really do show why we do, what we do! Here are just a few…
Dear Victoria and Simon
We just wanted to thank you for your beautiful flowers at our wedding at Barnsley House. They were everything that we had imagined. You completely understood what we wanted and when we saw the photos afterwards, we thought, if we had seen them in a magazine we would have cut the photos out and said “this is what we want”! It could not have been more perfect. We loved the extra touches that you did and not only were the flowers beautiful but you were both so lovely and worked so hard (and so discreetly!) On the day it was a real pleasure to meet you both and to work with you. Now we just need to find another excuse to use your services again – I will have to think of something!!
Much love, Amanda and Richard
Dear Victoria and Simon
Our wedding day at The Dairy at Waddesdon was absolutely amazing and, one of the things that overwhelmed me and exceeded expectations were the flowers. They were all stunning and my bouquet blew me away – it was perfect. I loved it so much that we delayed leaving for our honeymoon while my new hubby found a company to preserve it for me!!!
Thank you so very much, Tanya and E J
Dearest Simon and Victoria
Thank you so very very much for the most beautiful flowers! I knew that you would do an excellent job and that I was going to love them but what I saw on the day was beyond my wildest expectations. Everything was absolutely beautiful! I was so thrilled with our bouquets! And how the venue looked…. everything was just how I’d hoped it would be- even better! The flowers were absolutely stunning and we had so many compliments on them. We had the most perfect day and are so happy that you were a part of it.
Not only were the flowers beautiful but the two of you have been such lovely people and I really appreciate the time you took to give me exactly what I wanted. You were also a very calming presence on the day… Victoria when you arrived with the bouquets and Simon- I can’t tell you how much better I felt when I saw your friendly face just as we drove into the courtyard and you gave me a wave… I suddenly felt calm!
So we simply cannot thank you enough!
Much Love Louise and Tam xx

Earlier this summer, the wedding of Chantal and Jeremy took palce at one of our favourite venues in London, the Orangery in Holland Park. One of the city’s hidden gems, the Orangery is the perfect place for an intimate summer celebration and, Chantal and Jeremy were the perfect clients.
Flowers were always going to be an important part of this wedding and Chantal’s bouquet of scented “Augusta Louise” roses, scabious, flowering mint, herbs and jasmine set the romantic tone of the day.
The bridesmaid wore a circlet of hydrangea, spray roses and flowering mint and, for the ceremony elegant urns of delphiniums, scabious, peonies and roses filled the Orangery with scent and colour.
The sun shone (amazingly!) for the drinks reception in the park, while the room was turned around for the reception. The urns were moved to flank the cake table and, a combination of high and low arrangements with hydrangeas, peonies and scented “Pink O’Hara” roses created a wonderfully romantic view in the Orangery’s light filled space.

Chantal and Jeremy were dream clients who clearly loved planning their wedding and the gorgeous photography of Jonny Back captured all the joy and emotion of the day perfectly….one of our favourites!

We’ve just received this wonderful thank you from some recent clients, who married on a very hot day in The Orangery in Holland Park last month.
Dear Florists Extraordinaires!
Now we are back from honeymoon, I can write to give you our huge thanks for the fabulous contribution you made to our day. When we were first planning the wedding, Jeremy said that he reckoned the flowers should be one of the most important parts, and that he wanted them to be good. But I could not believe how good that could be, and how excellently you could interpret our not-very-clear ideas – you produced something so utterly beautiful and so magnificent, that I think it is the memory of the flowers, those lovely lovely colours, that remains with me still as the clearest memory from the day. So this is an extra thank you above the polite usuals, for doing us so proud! They were truly works of art, and so lovely and as unstiff and informal as we hoped, with all the rosemary and mint. My only sadness is that we saw them for such a short amount of time – you might like to know that all the guests who took home the arrangements have said that they lasted a good week, despite that roasting.

As soon as i can think of an event for an excuse, I’ll come back to you for more!!

The Walled Garden, Cowdray that is, the flower beds are full of lavender; perfect for a summer wedding. The sun shone for the wedding of Hannah and Harvey as we filled the Castle room with vases and rings of soft pink hydrangeas, peonies and “Faith” roses. Good enough to eat!
